All day tours can be combined to several day tours. We arrange transportation, guides and accommodation. We can offer low budget to mid and high rang hotels. Places to stay below are optional. Please contact us if you would like to combine several day tours. Below you find some suggestions of a possible multiple 9 days tour.
Itinerary
1st day: San
Salvador
We start in San Salvador; we will go to the historic center of
the city with Iglesia el Rosario, Palacio Nacional, Teatro Nacional,
and the Metropolitan Cathedral, where the remains of Monsignor
Romero rest. From here we visit the Antropology Museum David J.
Guzman with most archeological finds displayed and gives a good
idea of El Salvador’s history. From here we go to a little hand
craft market. Than we go up to Los Planes de Renderos with a spectacular
view of San Salvador. Try the local dish 'Pupusas' as they are
the best ones. You will stay at one of San Salvador's hotels,
Casa Las Magnolias
located in Zona Rosa.
2nd day: Suchitoto,
Illobasco
We will take of to Ilobasco to see a workshop where local artists
make typical Salvadoran pottery. From Illobasco we go to Suchitoto,
colonial town north of San Salvador where we will have a little
city tour to see all the colonial building this little town offers.
We will have dinner with a great view to Lake Suchitlan. We will
sleep at Las
Puertas de Suchitoto.
3rd day: La
Palma
Fernando Llort has a big influence in the decoration of this little
town. His colorful images have been decorated all over town, mass
production of these arts you can see in all the local art shops.
We will take an easy 1.5 hour hike up to the highest point of
El Salvador, El Pital with a spectacular view! If you have any
energy left we will walk to Miramundo to get some more awesome
views. We will stay at Entrepinos
Resort and Spa.
4th day: Santa
ana, Ruta las flores
We visit El Salvador's second largest city. Santa Ana's architecture
is unmatched anywhere else in the country with highlights like
the Santa Ana's Neo- Gothic Cathedral, the Theater and the Palacio
Municipal. We will go to Nahizalco, an indigenous Pipil town;
sometimes you still see some traditional clothing. We visit a
craft studio for wooden furniture made by local artists. We will
stay at Hotel Santa
Leticia in Apaneca.
5th day: Coatepeque,
San Andres, Joya de Ceren
The second day tour starts at Joya de Ceren which was declared
world heritage by UNESCO in 1993 for being the only location in
the whole Mayan culture where you can appreciate the day to day
living styles of the popular pre-Columbian inhabitants. Than we
take of to one of El Salvador’s Mayan ruins, San Andres which
was inhabited by Maya between AD 600 and 900. There is nice small
museum on site. In the afternoon we will have lunch at Lake Coatepeque
with an amazing view over the lake! We will stay at Hotel
Santa Leticia.
6th day: Bahia
de Jiquilisco
Early in the morning we will take of to Bahia de Jiquilisco. Bahia
de Jiquilisco is home for more than 17 species that live in the
mangrove forest full with natural resources. We will go trough
the channels and enter the deep mangrove swamps try to see them.
You can observe birds, crabs in different colors and fish. You
can choose to do the tour by kayak or by motorboat. Hotel
Miraflores is located at a cliff with great breeze, where
we will spend the night.
7th day: Playa
Las Flores
At Playa Las Flores we spend a relaxing day at the beach. The
beach has black sand of volcanic origin. We will stay at Hotel
Miraflores, relax at the pool, swing in one of the hammocks,
and enjoy the sound of the ocean.
8th day: Perquin
Perquin was headquarters of the guerrillas named FMLN during the
war. You still find remaining like bunkers and bomb craters of
the fascinating and traumatic history. Perquin is owner of the
museum of the Revolution, simple overview by photos, posters and
weapons of the civil war. We will drive up to Rio Sapo, country's
cleanest river for a swim! We spend the night at Perquin
Lenca, a mountain village lodge.
9th day:
After breakfast we will go back to San Salvador.
